Healing Starts with Connection

We’re here to hold space for your story, offering understanding, tools, and support as you build a life that feels grounded and whole.

Nicole Morrison

BScN, MA, CNP – Psychotherapist

"One of the most powerful influences in your life are the words that you say to yourself." - Marie Forleo

Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support is a meaningful step, and my hope is that you feel safety, compassion, and possibility as we explore supports together.

I’m Nicole Morrison, a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist and Practice Director at Sunrise Counselling Services, with over 19 years of experience supporting individuals and families across the lifespan. My career has taken me from Travel Nursing (Labour and Delivery) in California and Hawaii, to community health specializing in 2SLGBTQIA+ care at The Gender Clinic, to teaching future nurses at our local College and University. Before earning my CNP designation, I completed a Master’s in Social Justice and Human Rights. I am passionate about supporting diverse and marginalized communities, integrating anti-racism, anti-oppression, and inclusive frameworks across multiple therapeutic modalities in my practice. I approach therapy with a deep respect for each client as an individual and a commitment to equity, dignity, and compassionate care.

I hold space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment, supporting them as they uncover their own solutions and strengths, fostering healing, growth, self-discovery, and acceptance.

My vision is to strengthen our communities by supporting youth, teens, and adults in accessing specialized mental health services from our team with diverse expertise, serving our client community from North Durham to across Ontario.

REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (Q)

“Always remember you matter, you’re important and you are loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can.” – Charlie Mackesy

Thank you for taking the time to be here. Reaching out for support is a meaningful step, and my hope is that this space can offer you comfort, curiosity, and a sense of possibility as you move forward.

My name is Mary Scarborough (she/her), and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). For me, therapy is about creating a compassionate and respectful space where your thoughts, feelings, and experiences can be fully acknowledged. My background includes over 14 years in healthcare, where I worked closely with individuals and families through stroke and neuro-rehabilitation. Those years deepened my belief that even in the hardest seasons, people carry remarkable strength—and that having someone walk alongside you in those moments can make all the difference.

When we work together, my role isn’t to tell you who you are or what you should do. Instead, I’m here to listen, to collaborate with you, and to help you uncover the insights and inner resources you already hold. I use a holistic, trauma-informed approach, drawing from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and somatic practices, because I believe healing involves both mind and body. Outside of the therapy space, I value time spent outdoors by the water, enjoying everyday laughter with my family, and being kept on my toes by my three very large, very spirited dogs. Healing is not a straight line, but a series of meaningful steps—and I’d be honoured to walk alongside you in yours.

Andrea Hui

REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (Q)
Hi there!

My name is Andrea Hui and I have over 17 years of experience supporting individuals and communities facing complex mental health challenges. My clinical training as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology has equipped me to provide trauma-informed, client-centered care to diverse populations through individual (ages 12+), family, and group therapy.
Currently, I provide psychotherapy to clients experiencing or who have experienced trauma, symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, bi-cultural identity concerns, and relationship conflict. I utilize evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, motivational interviewing and polyvagal-informed approaches to support emotional regulation, healing, and behavior change. My work emphasizes collaboration, respect, and empowerment—values that align closely with the principles of effective mental health care.
As a bilingual and neurodivergent clinician who is fluent in English and Cantonese, with intermediate Mandarin skills, I strive to create accessible and culturally responsive spaces for individuals from marginalized backgrounds. My professional philosophy is rooted in anti-oppressive practices, social justice, and the belief that recovery is a collaborative journey.
Let’s work together to re-ignite the light that has diminished. Rediscover meaning in your life. Heal from past wounds that haven’t fully recovered. Reconnect with what used to and could potentially feel right or make sense for you. When you’re ready, I look forward to embarking on this journey of self-growth and empowerment with you.

Sincerely,
Andrea Hui
